Short Answer
To prevent ghosting, remove Display Board Part #2345236 if the combination of Part #2345236 and Display Controller Board Part #2409241 is found. Replace the Display Board with Part #2345236-1. Whenever a replacement for the 46-264982G1 version of the Display Control Board is ordered, kit Part #5119876 contains a new version of both the Display Board (Part #2345236-2) and the Display Control Board (Part #2409241).
Possible Causes
Problem: There is a potential for ghosting to be seen on the Display Controller Board Part # 2409241 when used with the Display Board Part # 2345236 version. Ghosting results in partial illumination of some of the characters on the extreme left or extreme right of the display. While AMX4/AMX4+ systems exhibiting ghosting have not been shipped in forward production, this problem could occur in AMX4/AMX4+ systems if a service replacement part results in a non-desirable configuration of circuit boards. Applied to all AMX-4 and AMX-4+ models builds though October 2004.
Troubleshooting Steps
To prevent this problem from occurring, remove Display Board Part # 2345236 from unit if a combination of Part # 2345236 and Part # 2409241 is found. Replace Display Board with Part # 2345236-1. Whenever a replacement for the 46-264982G1 version of the Display Control Board is ordered, a kit (Part #5119876) containing a new version of both the Display Board (Part # 2345236-2) and the Display Control Board (Part # 2409241) will be sent.
