- Error 437 | AMCI Medical Imaging
GE mobile X-ray troubleshooting for Error 437. Review possible causes, diagnostic steps and service guidance from AMCI Medical Imaging. Troubleshooting AMX Error Number Error 437 Error Code / System Message 437 Error Question What should I check for error 437 on the AMX-4 Series? Short Answer 1) If Error 437 occurs after exposure, check HV Transformer Tank spark gaps (0.010 in.) or X-Ray Tube may be spitting. 2) If Error 437 occurs other than during or after an exposure, the X-RAY ON signal may be active, as during pickup of drive handle or while driving. 3) Check snubbers across drive relays. 4) For static problems on units prior to Oct. 1993, refer to Service Note 3411 / ESD Kit 46-329334G1; CPU Board should be 46-264974G1 or later and Filament kVp Control Board 46-264986G1 or later. Measure drive wheels to ground = 8-10K, not >25K; wheel shaft to ground = 5-10 ohms. 5) Check connection to RC filter across Power Module SCR Q3 power pack/block. 6) Check Safety Contactor operation during PREP; Safety Contactor or microswitch may be bad. 7) On older units, insulate capacitor C5 from its retaining clamp (Service Note 3265). 8) Check CPU Board. 9) Check battery leads, tap relays and other connections. 10) Check pin spread on high-voltage cables. 11) Check Battery Charger Board. 12) Check Drive Handle Assembly/Drive Handle Enable Switches for noise injected into CPU Board; XRAY and SONALERT may also activate. 13) Check for diode across K1 coil (Overall Schematic Sheet #2, Loc. 7-F; CQA 943970). 14) During CAL GENERATOR kVp calibration, make sure jumper between TP-14 and TP-15 is not open. Possible Causes 1) If error 437 occurs after exposure, check HV Transformer Tank spark gaps (0.010”) or the X-ray Tube (XRT) may be spitting. 2) If error 437 occurs other than during or after an exposure, the X-RAY ON signal may be active (as during pickup of drive handle or while driving) 3) Check snubbers across drive relays 4) Static problems (units prior to oct. 1993) order ESD kit part # 46-329334G1 (Refer to Service Note 3411) CPU Board should be 46-264974G1 or later and Filament kVp Control Board should be 46-264986G1 or Later). Measure Drive Wheels to Ground = 8 -10K but not >25K, Wheel shaft to Ground = 5 -10 Ohms 5) Poor connection to RC Filter across Power Module SCR Q3 Power Pack/Block 6) Poor Safety Contactor operation during PREP (Safety Contactor or Microswitch are bad) 7) Insulate (on older Units) Capacitor C5 from its retaining clamp (Refer to Service Note 3265) 8) Defective CPU Board 9) Poor connections(s); Battery leads, Tap relays, etc. 10) Poor pin spread on High Voltage Cables 11) Bad Battery Charger Board 12. Bad Drive Handle Assembly/Drive Handle enable switches—Injecting Noise into CPU Board (Also XRAY And SONALERT may activate) 13) No Diode across coil of K1 Safety Contactor coil (Overall Schematic Sheet #2, Loc. 7-F). CQA 943970 14) During CAL GENERATOR, kVp Cal - make sure jumper between TP-14 and TP-15 is NOT open Troubleshooting Steps 1) If error 437 occurs after exposure, check HV Transformer Tank spark gaps (0.010”) or the X-ray Tube (XRT) may be spitting.
